Automotive Technician I (North America Quality Center - NAQC) Hyundai America Technical Center (HATCI)’s North America Quality Center (NAQC) is looking for a Technician I for the Facilities and Support Team. The role focuses on the continuous development and enhancement of Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia vehicles by performing vehicle maintenance and repair, testing vehicle systems and components, and supporting engineering teams with vehicle‑related investigations.

What You Will Do

Perform four to five engine teardowns per day.

Participate in joint investigations with the Korean team(s).

Collaborate with engineering teams and assist with vehicle‑related tasks, such as swapping parts, testing vehicle systems and components, logging data, etc.

Oversee vehicle maintenance and repair.

Conduct post‑repair testing to ensure vehicles operate as expected.

Publish reports on teardown results.

Document vehicle repairs and modifications in a database environment.

Identify problems with diagnostic equipment via Hyundai/Genesis/Kia GDS.

Interpret and transcribe data for record‑keeping purposes.

Order parts and equipment.

Monitor warranties of parts.

Support shipment of outgoing parts.

Operate and maintain shop equipment and tools.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment.

Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a hazard‑free work environment.

Follow all state and federal regulations relating to performing automotive repairs.

What You Will Bring to the Role

Basic Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in automotive or industrial technology.

0‑3 years of automotive experience.

Experience contributing to automotive development or testing.

Familiarity with data acquisition systems.

Experience with vehicle systems (e.g., engine, transmission, HVAC, powertrain, EV, chassis, trim, body, electrical, and infotainment).

Familiarity with CAN tools.

Root‑cause analysis skills.

Availability for urgent system issues that may require on‑site presence at non‑standard work hours and/or locations.

Proficiency in Microsoft programs (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).

Excellent time‑management, self‑management, and organization skills.

Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.

Attention to detail.

Superb vehicle diagnostic skills.

Comfortable working in a shop or warehouse environment with varying temperatures and conditions, bending, kneeling, climbing, etc., pushing 100 lb or more, lifting ≤51 lb.

Preferred Qualifications:

ASE certification.

Forklift certification.
