Medical Office Associate I - Park Avenue
Position managed by Penn State Health – Hershey Medical Center in State College, PA. Full‑time, day shift. Shift varies 6:45 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday‑Friday. Office Manager is the direct supervisor.
SUMMARY OF POSITION Attend an eight‑week Front End Training Program or a six‑month on‑the‑job training program in order to obtain the MOA Certification. Provide front‑office support, including patient check‑in/check‑out, insurance verification, phone answering, appointment scheduling, and related administrative tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Utilize patient scheduling system for scheduling, check‑in, cancellations, wait‑list requests, per policy.
Register or verify patient registration and maintain accurate information.
Collect insurance copayments and other outstanding balances per policy.
Answer telephone calls promptly and politely, obtain required signatures (HIPAA, Consent to Treat, etc.), and perform check‑out functions including charge entry.
Compose professional, concise eMessages related to patient care.
Generate patient letters and manage other correspondence as required.
Monitor task lists, eMessage pools, and voicemail lines per guidelines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)
High school diploma or equivalent.
