Overview
The Clinical Services Rep assists the clinical staff by performing a variety of clerical tasks that ensure the efficiency of the unit and provide outstanding customer service to our patients and visitors. Relies on established guidelines to accomplish tasks. Works under close supervision. Responsibilities
Patient Medical Record: Assemble and maintain the patient chart from admission to discharge. Collect all printouts, file in charts, run necessary reports, and retrieve data as requested by physicians and nurses. Order necessary equipment and unit supplies and maintain adequate inventory levels. Process patient orders, requests for exams and other ancillary services (e.g., x-rays, lab tests, transportation) accurately and timely. Coordinate patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Retrieve medications from the pneumatic tube system and/or pharmacy and deliver to the nurse or place medications in a secure location as determined by the nurse manager. Assist nursing staff with retrieving medications from the pneumatic tube system and place medications in appropriate locations for administration by nurse. Act as a receptionist, greet patients, direct visitors, and provide patient information to the medical staff. Answer the phone with proper etiquette; respond to patient call lights in a timely manner; maintain a neat, clean, and orderly work area; maintain unit office equipment. Call physicians for consults and notify the nursing staff of the consultation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education
- High School or equivalent Training
- Medical Terminology or Medical Assistant Training preferred; Cerner (CIS) Special Skills
- Communication, Customer Service, Computer Skills; knowledge of medical terminology; ability to use office equipment and multi-task. Licensure
- Current BLS certification (only required in mental health departments). About Us
