Responsibilities
Assist with daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, posting, reconciliations, and general ledger management
Help prepare monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and OEM requirements
Support cash flow monitoring, bank reconciliations, schedule reviews and variance analysis
Maintain accurate schedules, statements, and accounting documentation
Assist with reconciling dealership operational accounts such as vehicle inventory, parts inventory, warranty receivables, WIP, and open RO schedules
Support the review of sales deals for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and reduce month-end close times
Assist in documenting, improving, and maintaining standard operating procedures within the accounting department
Collaborate with department managers to resolve discrepancies, ensure accurate reporting, and improve accounting workflows
Participate in annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting activities
Support the Controller with reporting, audits, OEM requests and special financial projects
Contribute to training guidance, and development of accounting team members as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree in Accounting preferred
Strong understanding of accounting principles and dealership financial operations
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach
Demonstrated eagerness to learn, grow professionally, and take on increasing responsibility
2–4 years of dealership accounting experience preferred
Working knowledge of dealership management systems (PBS, or similar systems strongly preferred)
Strong to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
