Position: Staff Accountant (Entry Level)
Location: Austin, TX

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or professionals with up to three years of accounting experience. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, and collaborating with internal teams in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries in compliance with GAAP
Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements monthly
Support month-end and year-end close activities
Maintain financial documentation for audits and reporting
Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions as needed
Track and reconcile project-related costs, including job costing and WIP schedules
Manage the fixed asset ledger, including additions, disposals, and depreciation
Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial reporting
Collaborate with project managers and internal teams to ensure accurate financial data
Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
0–3 years of accounting experience; open to entry-level candidates
Strong understanding of general ledger, journal entries, and fixed assets
Experience with cash management and reconciliations
Solid grasp of GAAP and general accounting principles
High accuracy in data entry and strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills; must be engaged, ask questions, and comfortable learning in person
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in construction accounting or a project-based environment
Exposure to public accounting
Familiarity with job costing, WIP schedules, or percentage of completion methods
Experience with Viewpoint or similar ERP systems
