Product Development Engineer Position Summary:
A Product Development Engineer acts as team leader for smaller projects or as a team member for portions of more difficult and complex projects. Performs work that leads to new product processes or systems with technical differentiation and significant business contributions. Designs, collects, analyzes, and reports on experimental studies and/or new technologies. Shows independent creativity and initiative for new business or organizational contributions. Contributes significantly to discussions and decisions on overall project objectives with managers and other functional areas.
Primary Responsibilities
Coordinate and lead all activities on comprehensive and technically challenging projects/assignments.
Fully develop multiple concepts related to customer needs and support viable solutions to achieve optimal outcomes while partnering internally and externally to commercialize the solution.
Develop and present reports summarizing technical analysis and business case to peer group and management audiences.
Effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external customers and staff.
Analyze and recommend engineering or design solutions for product, process, design, or other technical challenges.
Lead cross‑functional teams for broader, less‑defined initial objectives and scopes.
Understand concepts of corporate identity and business needs as applied to projects/assignments.
Must Have Qualifications
Completed 4‑year degree in Engineering or Physics‑based program.
Strong aptitude in process improvement, problem solving, technical execution and project management.
Experienced knowledge of lean, manufacturing, design, and quality systems.
7+ years engineering or technical experience.
Nice‑to‑have Qualifications
Experience as design or project lead of a cross‑functional engineering team.
2D and 3D CAD experience with AutoCAD, Inventor or equivalent software.
Experience working through a gated design review process.
Strong understanding of GD&T, drawing, and quality standards.
Demonstrated ability with dimensional engineering and tolerance/variation analysis.
Experience designing and developing new parts using injection molding, extrusion, machining, or die cast processes.
Effective technical presentation and communication skills.
Pay Range $99,216.00 - $153,784.00
