Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of the Pavement/Bridge/Drainage/Facilities Manager, a Senior Transportation Engineer, the Project Engineer will perform varied duties in support of the District 5 Maintenance Program. Responsibilities include developing plans, specifications, and estimates for Major Maintenance projects (Roadway, Roadside, Structures, Traffic Guidance, Electrical, Drainage, TBMP and Facilities), reviewing field data, prioritizing needs, coordinating with headquarters and district programs, preparing PS&E packages, and managing minor B projects and service contracts.

Candidates must review the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) for this classification. For Pattern II with the TE Civil written hurdle exam, do not take the online exam before passing the written hurdle. For clarification on education requirements, contact the Human Resources Contact. Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Transportation Engineer (Civil) exam.

Special Requirements

Appointment in Range D requires a valid Professional Engineering License (Civil) issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
