Position Description Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Williston, Vermont.

Pay & Bonuses

Hourly Pay: $29.50 per hour

Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700

Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)

Sign On Bonus: $1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days

Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off

Hours: Mid Shift 11:30 am – 8:00 pm

Requirements

High‑school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree, or technical certifications (preferred)

Basic tools required

Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:

Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake, tire work)

Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required fields (preferred)

Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A (preferred)

Additional Requirements

Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire

Pass a Ryder drug test

Pass a DOT physical

Pass a Ryder road test

Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties

Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections/repairs

Conduct preventive maintenance

Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer when applicable

Identify root cause of failures/conditions and perform repairs as required

Replace defective components as instructed

Perform facility maintenance duties

Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints when assigned a task

Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation available

Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)

Perform other support duties as required to support operations (including but not limited to Service Island support)
