Immediate hiring of a permanent full‑time, experienced mid‑level diesel technician to support our truck fleet at Ryder in White River, Vermont.

Position Description

Hourly Pay: $27.50 per hour

Sign‑On Bonus: $3,000

Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700

Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter

Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off

Hours: Mid shift, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

We want the right Maintenance Repair Mechanic to join us at Ryder to work on heavy‑duty vehicles.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred)

Basic tools required

Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire work, etc.

Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred)

Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A (preferred)

Must obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire

Pass a Ryder drug test

Pass a DOT physical

Pass a Ryder road test

Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties

Conduct standard vehicle maintenance

Perform component inspections and repairs

Carry out preventive maintenance

Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable

Identify root causes of basic failures and perform required repairs

Replace defective components as instructed

Perform facility maintenance duties

Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints when assigned a task

Use shop management system and electronic documentation

Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)

Perform other support duties as required, including service‑island support
