Location: Buffalo, MN
Onsite Flexibility: Onsite
Contract Details: Position Type — Contract; Contract Duration — Approximately 3 Months; Start — As Soon As Possible
Pay Rate: $20–24/hr
Schedule / Hours: 1st Shift — Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Central)
Flexibility Required: Weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
Role Summary The Phlebotomist / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the front-facing representative for patients receiving diagnostic services. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring patient comfort, confidentiality, and accuracy throughout the process. The PSR I demonstrates professionalism and leadership behaviors while working independently in a fast-paced clinical or hospital environment and maintaining strict adherence to established procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing
Draw blood specimens safely and accurately, including pediatric and geriatric collections
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established practices
Maintain accurate records and required documentation
Ensure a safe, professional, and patient-centered environment
Explain procedures clearly to patients to promote trust and confidence
Work independently with minimal on-site supervision
Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public
Skills & Qualifications Required Skills:
Strong phlebotomy skills , including pediatric and geriatric collections
Ability to deliver
error-free work
in a fast-paced environment
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Keyboarding and
data entry proficiency
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Skills:
Medical assistant or paramedic training
One or more years of phlebotomy experience
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment
Education & Experience
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certification:
Phlebotomy certification preferred
Required only in California, Nevada, and Washington
Experience:
Minimum
6 months of phlebotomy experience required
1+ year of experience preferred
Additional Requirements
Hospital Site:
Yes — additional credentialing may be required
Ability to support variable staffing needs, including overtime and on-call shifts
