Project Manager – Commercial Construction (GC)

Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing commercial construction team in Boise, Idaho. This role is responsible for managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents, safety standards, and quality expectations. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, GC-level experience, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all phases of commercial construction projects from award through closeout

Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cash flow projections

Lead project teams including superintendents, subcontractors, and consultants

Coordinate preconstruction activities, subcontractor buyout, and contract administration

Review and manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications

Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and local building codes

Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies

Maintain clear communication with owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams

Enforce jobsite safety standards and company policies

Track project progress and provide regular reporting to leadership

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

3+ years of experience as a Project Manager with a General Contractor

Proven experience managing commercial construction projects

Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, and cost control

Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, or similar)

Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Preferred Experience

Experience with ground-up commercial construction and/or complex renovations

Familiarity with Boise-area subcontractors, suppliers, and permitting processes

Experience in sectors such as office, retail, healthcare, industrial, or mixed‑use
