Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest.
Job Summary The Warehouse Lead is responsible for assisting the Warehouse/CDL Manager in directing and coordinating the entire warehouse operations.
Hours and Wages
Monday-Friday, 5:00PM start
$20.00-$24.00 per hour, based on experience, plus shift differential
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in training new warehouse staff
Ability to assist in parking/fueling of vehicles and cover routes when needed
Ensure trailer cuts are made for timely delivery to branches
Communicate with warehouse staff and other management to resolve discrepancies
Manage security of the yard and building
Coach and document conflicts and escalate to warehouse management
Assist in stacking and sorting to ensure the flow of freight
Ability to cover various shifts
Perform other required duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
Ability to motivate and lead a large team
Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently
Education and Experience
At least 21 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
1+ year of experience in leadership and transportation industry preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight weighing up to 100 pounds
Ability to work with all types of freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
