Physical Therapist Assistant We are currently looking for a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team on a per diem basis in Monmouth County. This person is responsible for providing physical therapy treatment and related tasks to patients in their homes or alternate community settings under the direction or supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

Supports the organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of your job, focusing on positive interpersonal relationships with co‑workers.

Follows the plan of care outlined by the Physical Therapist in your Evaluation or Reassessment.

Documents the treatment provided in the patient record.

Participates in organization‑wide QAPI and in‑service programs.

Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies.

Adheres to the organization’s policy regarding absenteeism and appearance.

Qualifications

Associate’s Degree approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.

Licensed in the state of practice.

Minimum of 1 year of experience (2+ years preferred) as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

Home care experience preferred.

CPR certification required.

Valid Driver’s License.

Strong planning and organizational skills.

Ability to work well under pressure, within strict time parameters, and with a strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Demonstrates strict confidentiality.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Travel by car; exposure to changing weather conditions and inclement weather.

Varied residential environments based on assigned caseload.

Exposure to resident waste, tissue, and blood products; use of personal protective equipment and universal precautions required.

Exposure to infectious pathogens, viruses, and disease.

Potential exposure to combative patients and/or patients with delirium/confusion.

Ability to communicate with others (verbal and written) and exchange accurate information.

Close and mid‑distance visual acuity.

Manual dexterity to operate general office equipment such as phone and computer.

Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.

Ability to carry 15 pounds while walking or climbing stairs.

Ability to squat, kneel, bend, reach, and grasp (while bending) to assist a 250‑pound patient to their feet from a sitting position and to assist the patient back to a sitting position.

Compensation & Pay Transparency In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the total compensation range for this position is USD $50,000.00 to USD $90,000.00. When determining an offer, VNA Health Group considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, relevant skills, internal pay equity, and market and organizational conditions. The total compensation range reflects the total package, including base salary, overtime, bonuses, add‑on incentives, special clinical compensation, retirement plans, and all other benefits.
