Overview

Safety and Operations Technician (LOTO) at JDC Power Systems, LLC. The role supports safety and operational excellence initiatives, conducting onsite electrical and mechanical assessments, developing and executing safety and operational procedures, and delivering technical and safety training to field personnel and customers. The technician operates independently across diverse environments while aligning with national field service standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations. Extensive national travel is required. Responsibilities

Field Operations and Technical Support: Conduct onsite electrical and mechanical equipment assessments across commercial, industrial, and mission‑critical environments including data centers, manufacturing facilities, hospitals, and mixed‑use buildings. Identify electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and stored energy sources to support safe work execution, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and job hazard analysis. Support regional and national field service teams with technical guidance and best practices. Training and Knowledge Transfer: Deliver in‑person and virtual training on electrical safety and lockout/tagout. Assist in the development and continuous improvement of standardized training materials including presentations, job aids, manuals, worksheets, and hands‑on practical exercises. Serve as a technical and safety subject matter resource for the Field Service organization. Safety & Compliance: Support and reinforce JDC’s safety culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety standards. Conduct safety walkthroughs, audits, and assessments at project and customer sites. Identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and escalate safety concerns to leadership as required. Documentation and Reporting: Develop, review, and update technical documentation including Lock out Tag out Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), and safety procedures. Complete detailed field reports, training records, assessments, and audit documentation. Support standardized reporting and data capture within JDC field service systems and tools. Collaboration and Customer Engagement: Work closely with National and Regional Field Service leadership to ensure consistent execution of standards and expectations. Interface directly with customers, vendors, and partners in a professional and solutions‑oriented manner. Support customer satisfaction by addressing field issues promptly, communicating clearly, and escalating concerns appropriately. Health And Safety Compliance: Ensure all field technicians follow company safety protocols and comply with industry regulations. Foster a culture of safety by conducting regular safety training, audits, and incident investigations. Stay up to date with federal, state, and local regulations related to field operations and ensure the team’s practices meet these requirements. Strategic Planning And Continuous Improvement: Work closely with senior leadership to help shape and execute strategies that drive growth and improve field service operations nationwide. Identify areas for improvement and lead initiatives that increase operational efficiency and enhance service quality. Stay informed on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in field service management to keep the team competitive and up to date. Required Skills

Education and Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience working with electrical and/or mechanical systems in field service, operations, maintenance, safety, or technical consulting roles and/or relevant education. Experience developing or implementing safety, operational, or technical procedures preferred. Prior training, mentoring, or supervisory experience is a plus. Technical And Professional Skills Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems (120VAC and above) and mechanical systems. Ability to identify energy magnitudes and evaluate energized and de‑energized conditions. Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and one‑line drawings. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver technical training. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Requirements Ability to identify and understand components of electrical and mechanical equipment, including but not limited to valves, breakers, fuses, disconnects, pumps, batteries, control circuitry, and electrical distribution systems. Ability to accurately identify and differentiate energy magnitudes and sources, including electrical voltages (e.g., 120V vs. 480V), pneumatic and hydraulic pressures, thermal energy, and gauge readings, to support safe work execution and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures. Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems with the ability to support operational assessments and field activities. Ability to read, interpret, and apply schematics, diagrams, and one-line drawings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems; troubleshooting experience is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical audiences. Effective facilitator and communicator with the ability to deliver training and presentations to groups of technical and trades personnel; public speaking experience is preferred and expected to comprise approximately 15% of the role. Certifications OSHA safety training (OSHA 30 preferred or ability to obtain). NFPA 70E training (required or ability to obtain). Additional electrical, mechanical, or safety-related certifications are a plus OHST, CHST, ASP, or CSP preferred. Location

This position is primarily remote, with the employee working from home during non-travel weeks. Periodic work at company offices in Chicago, IL Hackettstown, NJ may be required approximately once every two months, with increased frequency during the initial orientation or onboarding phase. Flexibility is provided to support work-life balance, job responsibilities provided and project deliverables are met. Travel Requirements

National overnight travel within the continental United States is required approximately 70-80% of the time, based on project needs. Typical travel schedule may include travel on Monday, on-site work Tuesday through Thursday, and travel on Friday, occurring approximately three out of four weeks per month. Travel schedules may vary based on project requirements. Occasional weekend travel or work may be required when dictated by project demands. The company will make reasonable efforts to manage travel schedules to support work-life balance and accommodate personal or family needs when possible. The employee is responsible for coordinating and booking their own travel for efficiency. All travel-related expenses, including airfare, lodging, and transportation, are company-funded and covered via a corporate credit card, with no out-of-pocket or reimbursement required.
