Jasper County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is dedicated to providing trained volunteers who advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children. These volunteer advocates dedicate approximately 10 to 12 hours per month to visiting children and ensuring their voices are heard. Since January 2019, the organization has successfully trained over 100 volunteers who actively support 200 children within Jasper County, Missouri. Jasper County CASA is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children through dedicated advocacy and community engagement.
Role Description
The Advocate Supervisor is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Joplin, MO. The Supervisor will oversee and support Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers, ensuring they are adequately prepared to advocate for the best interests of children involved in the court system. Main responsibilities include providing supervision and guidance to volunteers, monitoring the quality of their work, maintaining accurate records, and organizing ongoing training sessions. Additionally, the Supervisor will coordinate communication between relevant parties involved in the child welfare process, including caseworkers, attorneys, and judges.
Qualifications
Strong team leadership and volunteer supervisory experience
Proficiency in case coordination, case management, and timely record‑keeping
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Knowledge of child welfare systems, legal processes, or social work is a plus
Flexibility to work on‑site and manage schedules effectively
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field is preferred
Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
