All About General Merchandise Experts in operations, process and efficiency who ensure a consistent experience for guests by setting, merchandising and pricing products accurately on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, promotional signing and inventory accuracy processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store, including Food & Beverage and Food Service. This team also owns pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

Leading a team by planning daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver sales goals, while driving process improvements

Responsibilities
Execute daily/weekly workload to achieve department and store sales goals and guest engagement (merchandising, pricing, setting displays, promotions, price changes)
Educate team on operational procedures that impact inventory management, store profitability and product availability
Assist with and lead daily tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, backroom organization, arranging merchandise and putting up promotional signs
Lead processes in inventory accuracy, merchandise set‑up and maintenance, and pricing for all areas of the store
Assign daily tasks to team members based on workload and traffic, aligning with weekly and monthly business priorities
Establish clear goals and expectations, holding team members accountable
Support efficient delivery to guests by leading pick, pack and ship fulfillment work (if applicable) and assessing reporting to identify gaps
Collaborate with all teams and leaders to ensure the store is guest‑ready
Stay informed about trends and products to educate team members through Target communications
Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest‑centric team, embracing onboarding and development opportunities
Work a schedule aligned to guest and business needs, including early morning, evening, overnight shifts and weekends
Support guest services such as back‑up cashier and digital fulfillment processes, maintaining compliance with federal, state and local laws
Demonstrate inclusivity, respect diverse voices and create equitable experiences
Lead a safety culture by modeling safe behaviors, addressing hazards and reporting incidents promptly and accurately
Model execution of physical security processes to reinforce the in‑store security culture
Model welcoming experiences by greeting guests and engaging positively
Follow all safe and secure training if a key carrier
Address all store emergency and compliance needs
Perform all other duties as required by business needs

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Age 18 or older
Previous retail experience preferred but not required
Ability to lead and hold others accountable
Communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
Work independently and as part of a team
Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
Remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment, completing multiple tasks on time
Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members
Effective communication skills
Additional Qualifications
Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
Interpret instructions, reports and information accurately
Accurately handle cash register operations as required
Climb up and down ladders as needed
Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 44 lbs
Flexible work schedule with reliability and prompt attendance
Work in varying temperatures, humidity and other elements while performing duties such as Drive‑Up, carryout, etc.
Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)
