Streaming Video Operations Transmission Manager Responsibilities
Responsible for transmission manager and check in for live events following the broadcast schedule. Troubleshooting and monitoring of all contribution feeds video and audio signals to ensure trouble‑free broadcasts. Monitor system tools and dashboards to keep the stream health during scheduled events. Maintain knowledge of the company’s transmission networks and execute triage procedures. Prepare backup scenarios to ensure service continuity during a live event. Troubleshoot, investigate, document, and communicate root cause analyses for service interruptions or anomalies. Manage IP transmission and video workflows. Work with Operations and QA departments to ensure quality for all transmission and routing needs. Interact with transmission carriers to resolve issues, escalations, maintenance, and overall performance. Establish SOPs for transmission technologies, including audio/video and communications check‑in, QC processes for remote outgoing transmission activity, and ingest. Provide quality control and support across departments for feed assistance. Partner with engineering teams to troubleshoot higher‑level problems. Assist with equipment testing and configuration as needed. Qualifications
BSBA Degree or knowledge of OTT video distribution, contribution technology, and architecture. 1 year experience in a Transmission Master Control/Production Control Room or media ingest fulfillment environment, with direct experience in IP‑based or fiber‑based transmission workflows and vendors. Understanding of MVPD‑based linear ecosystem and OTT architecture, and experience with protocols such as RTP, RTMP, SRT, UDP, Zixi, RIST, HLS, MPEG‑DASH. Knowledge of digital A/V fundamentals, compression technologies, distribution formats, multicast and unicast, codecs (AVC, HEVC, AAC, E‑AC3, Atmos, HDR, SCTE‑35, ESNI, closed captions, QAM, ADS splice). Ability to assess and troubleshoot video and audio quality. Experience with cloud‑based infrastructure. Demonstrated ability to prioritize under time constraints and thrive in a fast‑paced, independent environment. Balance multiple tasks and projects in a results‑oriented setting. Willingness and availability for flexible hours, including nights and weekends to meet 24/7 operational needs. Additional Preferences
Knowledge of leading streaming technologies including UHD, 4K, HDR, and low latency. Passion for new technologies in sports and entertainment. Contact
