Description The City of Folsom is currently recruiting for one (1) Recreation Coordinator II to join the Parks & Recreation Department - Sports Division. The ideal candidate for this position will have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of sports and recreation programs, clinics, and camps. The incumbent will also assist in the development of youth sports leagues and tournaments using best practices, and will coordinate and monitor these leagues and tournaments. Some supervisory experience is desirable, as the incumbent will train and oversee staff members working in sports and recreation programs offered by the City.
Qualifications
Education:
A bachelor's degree in recreation, leisure management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
One (1) year of full-time experience as a Recreation Coordinator I with the City of Folsom.
OR Three (3) years of full-time increasingly responsible experience in recreation program leadership.
Substitution:
Additional qualifying experience can substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with developing and implementing youth sports leagues and tournaments.
Experience supervising or overseeing others such as part-time employees, volunteers, or contract staff.
Public Sector Experience.
