Job Overview Reporting to the Operations Manager/Transportation Manager, the Driver I drives, loads, and unloads Class C (bobtail) vehicles during moves and related services. The role involves lifting, carrying, and moving furniture, equipment, and cartons on wheels or by hand to and from trucks, offices, and warehouses as requested by the customer. Responsibilities include operating ramps or lift‑gates, ensuring safe loading and unloading, and communicating with supervisors, end users, and crew members. The Driver I also reports and escalates any job‑related issues to the Lead Foreman, Supervisor, or Project Manager and follows all company processes and procedures to protect goods, facilities, and people.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Driver:
Checks start time with dispatch for the next day’s schedule.
Performs pre‑trip check and safely drives Class C bobtails.
Sets, offsets, moves, lifts, and carries furniture, equipment, and boxes as required.
Properly loads and unloads trucks using ramps or lift‑gates to protect goods.
Completes assigned paperwork accurately and hands it to dispatch daily.
Respects site rules, including meal and rest period locations.
Maintains confidentiality regarding any products or services visible at the move site.
Safety:
Works with quality, efficiency, and safety at all times.
Abides by all safety rules, including wearing required gear and operating forklifts safely.
Ensures passengers wear seatbelts.
Reports unsafe or dangerous customer requests to senior management.
Reports accidents immediately in Driveroo VIR Software and contacts dispatch.
Never backs up trucks without a spotter.
Maintenance:
Assists Driver II with proactive maintenance of all equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
Customer Relations:
Maintains excellent customer service with customers, transportation, and warehouse teams.
Is punctual. If an emergency arises, informs supervisor and warehouse manager immediately.
Works cooperatively with crew members.
Is courteous, helpful, and professional to all customers.
Other Duties:
Arrives at dispatch office in complete uniform each day.
Obtains daily work assignments from dispatch or supervisor and stays on assignment until relieved.
Signs timesheets daily, indicating start, meal periods, and end time; completes other documentation accurately.
Promotes Corovan’s Mission and Vision Statements.
Promotes compliance with company policies and procedures.

Familiar with moving equipment: bobtail trucks, trucks, golf carts, dollies, pallet jacks, forklifts, ramps, lift gates, etc.
Handles sensitive and confidential information.
Mauser forklift types and uses proper lifting techniques.
Participates in DMV Pull Notice and Random Drug Testing Programs.
Completes Corovan University training (Mover I/ II, Driver I) and passes written tests.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
2–3 years’ experience in commercial office moving or warehouse environment preferred.
1–2 years’ driver experience in warehouse environment preferred.
Valid California Class C driver’s license required.
Minimum age 21 to qualify for company vehicle insurance.
Valid driving record meeting insurance carrier requirements.
Preferred forklift certification (not required).
Experience providing leadership or guidance in a labor‐oriented environment preferred.
Physical Demands Individuals must be able to sit or stand for long periods and have the strength and agility to perform tasks such as walking on uneven surfaces, lifting up to 75 lb, pushing or pulling up to 150 lb, climbing stairs, and reaching above shoulder heights.
Work Environment Work occurs in office, warehouse, or outdoor environments. Conditions may involve exposure to temperature extremes, wet or humid weather, construction noise, and the use of personal protective equipment (safety shoes, glasses, hard hats, masks, gloves, hearing protection).
Position Type and Expected Hours
Variable hours, part‑time, non‑exempt.
May be required to work late evenings or weekends.
All overtime must be approved by a manager before work.
Travel The position requires local travel depending on customer assignment.
