Support fire suppression, mitigation, fuels treatment, and prescribed fire functions as a NWCG Firefighter Type 2 (FFT2) crewmember Construct firelines, cut and clear vegetation, perform structure protection, mop up, patrol, and assist with ignition operations Operate pumps, hoses, water delivery systems, and communication radios Assist with rescue operations, safety inspections, equipment maintenance, and incident documentation Provide non-wildfire and all‑hazard incident support such as structure fire, hazmat, search & rescue, medical, and other tasks as trained Travel as needed for active fires, severe weather assignments, pre‑positioned duties, and nationwide assignments; ability to work 16‑hour days and in austere conditions Participate in physical conditioning activities up to one hour per day Support mitigation, fuels treatment, and resource management projects: clear vegetation, construct firelines, perform ignitions, maintain prescribed fire burns, and track data on fuel characteristics Assist with equipment inspection and maintenance, inventory management, and logistics for training, community outreach, and public safety events Minimum Qualifications

Qualified as a NWCG Firefighter Type 2 (FFT2) with documented IQS or IQCS Master record or incident qualification card Minimum of 18 years of age and current valid driver’s license; obtain Colorado license within one month of hire Physical fitness level of Arduous Fitness Level rating within two weeks of hire per NWCG standards Background investigation, polygraph, criminal history, reference check, driving history, and drug screen Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years of wildland fire, fire service, fuels management, or related experience State of Colorado/DFPC Structural Firefighter I or equivalent NWCG qualifications: Firefighter Type 1 (FFT1), Basic Faller (FAL 3) or higher, Incident Commander Type 5 (ICT 5), Helicopter Crewmember (HECM) Medical certifications: Wilderness First Responder, Emergency First Responder, or Emergency Medical Technician Demonstrated commitment to public service and community involvement Application Information
