The
Assistant Scientist
(Postdoctoral Neuroimaging Program Manager) supports and advances neuroimaging within the McCausland Brain Imaging Center. This position provides scientific, administrative, and operational leadership to coordinate multidisciplinary research activities. Responsibilities include managing daily lab operations, supervising staff and trainees, overseeing MRI data collection and analysis, and ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards. The role also contributes to grant and manuscript preparation, program evaluation, and development of funding opportunities. Through these efforts, the position promotes research excellence, collaboration, and the growth of the neuroimaging program. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a terminal degree (PhD or similar) in an area of research specialty and one year of post-graduate job-related experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. in neuroscience, psychology, or a related field required. Expertise in MRI -based neuroimaging, research design, and lab management. Strong record of scientific writing, grant preparation, and use of data collection tools such as RedCap. Proficiency with SPSS and/or Matlab, Microsoft Office, and excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills are essential. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Experience in working with major statistical software packages including JASP, SPSS, R and Matlab. Familiarity with neuroimaging tools such as FreeSurfer, FSL, and SPM.
