DESCRIPTION Job Summary Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on Generator or component at the customer site with minimal direction.

We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in (Kansas City, MO).

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Completing repair activities on generators or components

Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner

Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

Maintain detailed records of service

Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.

High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.

Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.

Responsibilities

Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators.

Basic Diesel Engine experience.

Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.

Qualifications

Supports senior Field Service Technicians with complex diagnostics, repairs, installations, and commissioning activities as assigned.

Participates in on‑call or after‑hours service rotations to support customer uptime and service commitments.

Maintains accurate control of assigned service vehicle inventory, tools, parts, and consumables.

Applies product updates, service bulletins, and technical communications during field service activities.

Identifies and communicates opportunities to improve safety, service efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Represents the company professionally at customer sites and complies with all company policies, regulatory, and quality requirements.

This is a union‑represented position and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Driving & CDL Requirements

A current valid license is required for this role.

This role requires a 5‑year motor vehicle report, free from major violations.

This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.

3 years driving experience.

This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use.

Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older; applicant must be 21 years of age.

A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Current relevant electrical certification

Locally valid driving permit

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Minimal level of workshop related experience required.

Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products.

High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience.
