Job Summary Performs a variety of complex duties involved in a clinical study, basic science, or research laboratory in support of research initiatives; develops and evaluates new techniques and procedures; may coordinate and/or supervise activities of support staff.

Responsibilities

Actively participates in lab meetings, stays apprised of related scientific literature, prepares manuscripts, and pursues publishing.

Prepares laboratory animals for surgery, performs surgical procedures as instructed, and assists with feeding, watering, and general care (both pre‑ and post‑operative). Coordinates administrative and technical arrangements of animal models and maintains related records.

Maintains multiple cell lines required for assays, ensures viability, performs assays, analyzes data, keeps detailed laboratory notes, and creates diagrams for record‑keeping and presentation.

Performs data analysis related to research results and prepares findings. Assists with design of experimental protocols. Participates in preparation of media, stains, and reagents.

Participates in tracking and monitoring budgetary resources to ensure effective lab operations.

Uses independent judgment in daily lab operations to ensure safe and efficient use of resources and compliance with federal guidelines and institutional protocols.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other natural, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area, and experience in a research, basic science or clinical setting particularly clinical trials research.

OR

Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area, and a minimum of three years’ experience in a research, basic science or clinical setting particularly clinical trials research.

Preferred Qualifications

Some previous experience in a research laboratory with Ca2+ signaling in the collecting duct of the kidney.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and critical thought skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to use sound judgment and work independently.

Shift / Salary / Benefits Shift: Days; Monday – Friday

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications within the established range (generally minimum–midpoint) of the position.

This position is funded through external sources and continued employment is contingent upon availability of these funds.

Recruitment Period: 12/2/2025 – 12/5/2025

Benefits include health, dental, life insurance, retirement plan, vacation time, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays. Tuition Assistance Program may be available for full‑time employees with more than 6 months of employment.
