Elementary Special Education Teacher (Full-Time)
Job Summary: Pittsboro Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full‑time Special Education Teacher to join our elementary school team. The ideal candidate is committed to supporting diverse learners, collaborating with staff and families, and creating inclusive, engaging learning environments that help all students reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations
Provide direct instruction and academic support to students with diverse learning needs
Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student goals
Monitor, document, and report student progress regularly
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs
Maintain accurate and confidential student records
Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school activities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (Master’s preferred)
Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
Experience working with elementary‑aged students (preferred)
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Knowledge of IEP development and special education law
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
