Job Purpose As a MS Permanent Substitute, you will enable children to pursue their education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of the regular teacher. Your role supports our mission to put students first and deliver Strong Minds, Good Hearts™ through a proven education model.
How You Will Impact Education
Review with the principal, supervisor, or designated teacher the lesson plans and schedule to be followed during the teaching day.
Teach the lessons prepared by the absent teacher.
Report in writing the day's activities at the end of each day and provide additional feedback as requested by the building principal.
Follow all school and CSUSA policies, rules, and procedures applicable to regular teachers.
Consult with the building principal or supervisor before initiating any lesson or procedure not specified in the teacher's plan.
Student Management
Maintain established routines and procedures in the classroom to ensure continuity.
Oversee student behavior throughout the day as requested.
Ensure students remain on task and exhibit appropriate behavior at all times.
School/Community Relations
Build and maintain positive relationships with faculty and staff of the district.
Handle student and staff information with utmost confidentiality.
Required Qualifications And Skills
Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to CSUSA's mission and values.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
Capacity to organize, prioritize, and schedule tasks effectively.
Basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to adapt to changing classroom demands.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Completion of the District's Substitute Workshop.
Commitment to CSUSA’s values.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Usual school working conditions, potentially noisy during high student traffic.
Physical Demands
No physical exertion required.
Somewhat stressful due to frequent student activity.
Light work: Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
