Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County is seeking a dedicated
Special Education Teacher
to support students with diverse learning needs within our classical, content-rich academic model.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a special education caseload in compliance with state and federal regulations
Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs
Provide research-based, individualized instruction and interventions
Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, families, and external providers
Conduct evaluations and participate in eligibility determinations
Supervise and support paraprofessionals
Support inclusion and student participation in general education settings
Maintain accurate and confidential student records
Implement positive behavior supports
Participate in meetings, training, and professional development
Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree preferred
Valid Colorado Special Education Generalist (K-12) license required
Experience with push-in and pull-out services preferred
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Commitment to classical education, moral character, and ACACS mission
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
Ability to stand, sit, bend, and move throughout classrooms
Ability to supervise students indoors and outdoors
