The purpose of the role The Reorder Buying department within Henderson Wholesale plays a vital role in the ongoing success of our Wholesale business. This department is responsible for ensuring a continuous supply of the correct products and service level to our loyal and ever-growing customer base, ensuring that their business is running as smoothly as possible.
The role of the Trainee Replenishment Buyer will primarily be ordering, planning, and managing stock inventory of assigned products, suppliers and/or categories, to provide agreed service levels to internal and external customers.
In addition to this they will liaise with suppliers when needed on stock matters and will expedite new and existing products into the business.
This is an ideal role for an enthusiastic and proactive individual coming from a fast-paced supply chain or retail background looking for the next stage in their career.
Working as Trainee Replenishment Buyer you will
Manage stock replenishment and inventory control on an agreed range of products and suppliers to achieve and maintain our service level to customers on the Buying System.
Review, analyse and forecast stock requirements, Control the movement of stock levels to prevent overstocks whilst improving service levels and identify inflation opportunities.
Coordinate with company suppliers and internal departments to achieve team and company goals.
Monitor daily out of stocks and report reasons and appropriate action for follow up with suppliers and Trading Managers.
Liaise with warehouse and goods in on deliveries and stock issues.
Develop a good working relationship with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
As a team member, to help other team members in the reorder buying department, and to carry out any other duties of a similar nature and level of responsibility as may be allocated from time to time.
Skills for Success Joining us as Trainee Replenishment Buyer the minimum criteria you’ll need is
Be educated to GCSE level as a minimum, with Grade C of above in Maths and English (or equivalent)
Proficient IT skills, including effective use of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
The Attributes you’ll need include
Possess excellent communication skills.
Be able to work on your own initiative as well as working as part of a team.
Have the ability to prioritise tasks.
Willingness to learn.
It is Desirable if you have
Have experience of operating a computerised Inventory Management System.
Have a minimum of one years’ experience working in an office environment or retail / foodservice environment.
Gained experience from working within a retail food store or warehouse.
Experience working within a stock replenishment/re-ordering role in warehouse or retail food environments.
Experience working within FMCG.
Experience preferably within the fresh Category of stock replenishment/re-ordering role or previous experience of ordering stock of a short life nature.
