Purpose
The Bartender is responsible for welcoming guests, accurately taking all food and beverage orders, and ensuring they are delivered in a timely manner to the guests' satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide guests with accurate information on menu items, pricing, and allergen details.
Recognize and cultivate regular guests to encourage repeat business.
Enter orders into the POS system promptly and accurately.
Serve food and drinks promptly and as specified.
Replenish stock during the shift and maintain bar cleanliness.
Move furniture as directed by management (tables, chairs, bar stools, etc.).
Verify guest identification to confirm age 21+ before serving.
Assist food servers and follow precise drink recipes.
Organize and prioritize service and respond to guest concerns with a positive attitude.
Comply with all safety and health procedures, state and federal liquor laws, and company sanitation standards.
Prepare guest checks, process payments, and close checks with signatures.
Account for bar monies and perform independent banking procedures.
Clean spills immediately, place trash in proper receptacles, and maintain nightly/weekly opening and closing duties.
Report equipment failures or safety hazards to management immediately.
Monitor intoxicated or disruptive guests and bring concerns to a manager.
Refuse service to intoxicated guests in a courteous, safety‑minded manner.
Assist and complete additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma preferred.
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Valid driver’s license and 21+ years of age.
Possession of or the ability to possess all state required work cards.
Minimum of two years related experience and proficiency with POS systems.
Strong knowledge of beer and spirits.
Proper lifting techniques and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Excellent guest relations, sanitation, safety, and safe alcohol service.
Full‑service restaurant operations experience.
Effective and assertive communication in English, both verbally and in writing.
Working Conditions
Work indoors or outdoors, exposed to hot and cold surfaces, steam, and wet floors.
High noise, crowds, and smoke levels that vary with guest volume.
Fast‑paced, high‑volume, full‑service restaurant setting.
Shift work includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
Walk and stand for long periods.
Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls and repeat movements for long periods.
Understand spoken speech and speak clearly.
Push and lift up to 50 lbs; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
