Positions Available Elementary Self-Contained Special Education Teacher Elementary Resource Special Education Teacher (Pre-K to Grade 2)
Location Evanston, IL area
Duration Current School Year contract, with availability from ASAP through June 5, 2026 (emergency days pending)
Key Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs Deliver specialized instruction in self-contained and resource classroom settings Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed Participate in team meetings and professional development activities
Qualifications Valid Illinois Special Education Teaching License Experience working with elementary-aged students in self-contained and resource environments Strong understanding of special education laws, current practices, and instructional methodologies Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
Work Schedule Approximately 32.5 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break Full-time contract for the school year term
