HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR (RFT/NAVY GATEWAY INN & SUITES)
Job Summary:
Supervises staff of Housekeeping/Laundry Attendants and Housekeeping Leads. Performs any combination of the day‑to‑day housekeeping and/or laundry duties, ensuring NEXCOM Hospitality Group NHG standards are met. Regularly performs the full range and scope of services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises housekeeping personnel performing cleaning of guest rooms, public spaces, outdoor areas and general property maintenance; ensures efficient and economical cleaning methods.
Uses the Property Management System (PMS) to prepare daily housekeeping reports and schedule housekeepers, ensuring program commitments are met.
Coordinates with front desk and maintenance personnel to ensure rooms are ready for occupancy and prepares work requests for maintenance.
Conducts daily inspections of rooms, carts, common areas, and laundry facilities, maintaining written documentation.
Conducts training on proper work methods and safety procedures; implements all safety, fire prevention, SDS, and environmental/industrial hygiene requirements.
Manages security of items in the storeroom and assigns storage locations; orders cleaning supplies, in‑room amenities, and other materials needed by housekeeping staff.
Ensures equipment is maintained, stored, and accounted for; performs routine inventory of amenities, supplies, and linen.
Inspects rooms daily to ensure NHG standards are met and preventive maintenance repairs are completed; origins work orders and coordinates repairs with Maintenance, Housekeeping Manager, or NHG General Manager.
Evaluates performance, recommends awards or corrective disciplinary actions, and manages leave requests.
Handles guest/staff suggestions and complaints, resolving issues diplomatically and escalating difficult situations to management.
Performs duties of housekeeping and laundry attendants as needed to cover staff shortages or other unanticipated occurrences.
Qualifications:
No experience required. High School graduate or equivalent; housekeeping experience, including supervisory, preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Moderate physical effort required, including moving furniture and use of hand or lightweight powered cleaning equipment.
