Computer Information Systems Instructor - Part-time Adjunct Pool
Join Inside Higher Ed at the Kern Community College District (Bakersfield Community College). This part‑time adjunct instructor pool supports the Business Management/Information Technology and Engineering departments. The starting hourly salary is $66.00, payable per lecture hour equivalent.
Responsibilities
Teach courses in computer information systems per department needs.
Develop and deliver curriculum, including multiple modalities.
Work effectively with colleagues in an inclusive, innovative learning environment.
Engage students with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
Maintain subject‑matter currency and assess student learning outcomes.
Participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Explore and apply new technologies to benefit the program.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher plus at least two years of professional experience; or associate degree with six years of experience.
Professional experience must be directly related to the teaching assignment, especially for candidates with a master’s degree.
Equivalency accepted via application for equivalence with supporting documents.
Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse student populations.
Accredited degrees; foreign degrees evaluated per NACES/ACEI requirements.
