Representative Duties
Provide instruction in a full range of Political Science courses.
Participate in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs for the Science department.
Maintain subject matter currency and develop/revise curriculum.
Use computer and multimedia technology.
Participate collegially in departmental, college, and discipline-specific professional activities.
Teach using multiple methodologies and at other campus sites, including day, evening, or weekend classes, large classes, distance learning classes, and classes for incarcerated students.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s in Political Science, Government, or International Relations;
or Bachelor’s in any of the above and Master’s in Economics, History, Public Administration, Social Science, Sociology, ethnic studies, JD, or LL.B.;
or possession of a valid credential authorizing full‑time teaching of Political Science at the California Community College level;
or equivalent. Certain combinations of education, experience, and other accomplishments may be judged as equal.
Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Note: Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Foreign degrees must be evaluated by an accredited evaluation service.
Knowledge & Abilities
Work effectively with colleagues in an environment that promotes innovation, teaching, learning, and service to a diverse student population.
Work effectively with students across a wide range of skills and goals.
Develop curriculum, including modalities.
