Full-time/Part-time; must be available for varied shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
Position Summary This role isn’t just about fixing things—it’s about keeping the hotel safe, reliable, and guest-ready every day. The Maintenance Technician responds to guest repair requests, completes preventive maintenance, troubleshoots building systems, and supports the operation across the property with minimal downtime.
You will move throughout the hotel to handle issues where they occur—guestrooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and exterior/grounds as assigned—while maintaining professional communication, protecting company assets, and following all safety and confidentiality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to maintenance calls and work orders promptly and professionally
Communicate clearly with guests and team members; provide updates and follow through to completion
Document work performed, parts used, and outcomes in the maintenance log/CMMS
Preventive Maintenance & Inspections
Perform preventive maintenance using checklists (guestrooms, public areas, BOH, equipment rooms)
Record readings and inspections (meters, temperatures, pressures, equipment condition) as assigned
Identify repeat issues and recommend corrective actions to leadership
Multi-Trade Repairs (Hotel-Wide)
Troubleshoot and repair common hotel/guestroom issues (lighting, outlets/switches, fixtures, doors/hardware, TVs/phones, furniture, basic carpentry)
Perform minor electrical repairs within scope and training
Perform minor plumbing repairs (toilets, faucets, valves, regulators, small pumps)
Perform minor HVAC repairs (filters, thermostat calibration, condensate drains, fan assemblies)
Complete basic interior finish repairs (paint touch-ups, drywall/vinyl/woodwork)
Maintain a clean and safe workspace; remove debris and return areas to guest-ready condition
Meeting Space / Event Support (as assigned)
Assist with set-up, operation, and removal of meeting room equipment and room resets
Grounds / Shuttle / Pool & Spa (property dependent)
Assist with exterior cleanliness and safety (trash/debris removal, basic sweeping/washdown)
Drive a company vehicle/shuttle if required by the property and if qualified
Support pool/spa upkeep per health code standards if assigned and trained/certified
Safety & Standards
Follow company policies, SOPs, and safety practices (including Lockout/Tagout and chemical safety)
Maintain a basic awareness of life safety systems (fire panel, generator, transfer switch, sprinkler system) and report concerns promptly
Maintain confidentiality and protect company tools, keys, and assets
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required (technical/vocational training preferred)
General maintenance experience required; hotel engineering experience preferred
Ability to troubleshoot across multiple trade areas (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, general building)
Basic computer skills for work orders/logs
Valid driver’s license may be required depending on the property/role
Certifications as required by the role/property (examples: CPO, EPA/CFC, local licensing)

Able to prioritize and stay calm in a fast-paced environment
Flexible schedule (24/7 hotel operation)
Physical Requirements
Stand and walk for extended periods; move throughout the property regularly
Use hands for tools/controls; reach overhead and below the knees
Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching; occasional climbing and ladder work
Lift/move up to
50 lbs frequently
and heavier items
with assistance/equipment
as appropriate
Work in varying temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, and moderate-to-loud noise levels

Wage/Hour Notes (California & Federal FLSA)
This position is
Non-Exempt
and eligible for overtime in accordance with
federal FLSA
and
California
wage and hour requirements.
Meal and rest periods are provided in accordance with California requirements.
Scheduling, timekeeping, and all hours worked must be accurately recorded; no off-the-clock work.
Paid sick leave and other required benefits are provided in accordance with California and any applicable local ordinances.
