Heavy Equipment Operator I Waste

Responsibilities
Perform installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of the water distribution and water collection systems.
Repair water/waste water problems as they arise; supervise the crew of 1–3 staff members in the absence of the crew leader.
Operate equipment on water main breaks/water lines and oversee the repair of manhole rings and lids.
Oversee smoke testing and water line testing followed by applicable repairs.
Lay new water/sewer mains.
Distribute public correspondence notices and smoke test notices door to door to City of Lancaster citizens.
Be available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week unscheduled, on call status pending a water/waste water response situation.
Be assigned as primary on‑call responder once per month as scheduled.
Cleans and maintains the appearance of work equipment and work areas.
Maintain inventory of tools and equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities None.
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Class B (CDL) Driver’s License with clean driving record.
Class D Water Certification.
Class D Waste Water Certification.
Confined Space Entrant Certification.
Driving is a requirement of this position.
