Hours for the role are 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, Monday–Friday. Weekend and overtime work may be required based on production and operational needs. This position requires regular and prompt attendance during the scheduled hours.

Job Purpose The warehouse clerk is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to warehouse operations, ensuring accurate processing of inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining inventory records, preparing documentation, and facilitating communication between warehouse staff, drivers, and management.

Key Responsibilities / Duties

Inbound (Receiving):

Process and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, bills of lading (BOL), and packing slips.

Enter receiving data accurately into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Communicate discrepancies such as shortages, overages, or damages to supervisors.

Check in drivers and ensure compliance with site procedures.

Maintain organized receiving documentation and files.

Outbound (Shipping):

Prepare and verify shipping documents, including BOLs, packing slips, and labels.

Coordinate with dock staff and carriers to ensure on‑time shipments.

Release freight to drivers after verifying load accuracy and documentation.

Maintain seal control and shipping logs as required.

Update shipment status in WMS/TMS systems.

Inventory & Data Management:

Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.

Research and resolve inventory discrepancies.

Perform data entry and reporting related to warehouse activities.

Ensure documentation is complete and filed according to company policy.

Administrative Support:

Communicate with supervisors, warehouse associates, carriers, and vendors.

Answer phones, emails, and manage driver windows.

Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly operations reports.

Support audits, compliance checks, and customer inquiries.

Serve as acting supervisor when leadership is unavailable.

Safety & Compliance:

Follow all warehouse safety policies and procedures.

Ensure drivers follow safety and security requirements.

Report safety hazards or incidents immediately.

Work Experience / Knowledge:

Proven experience working in a warehouse setting.

Knowledge of warehousing and stock control methods and procedures.

Familiarity with warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency.

Ability to input, retrieve, and analyze data.

Knowledge of warehouse operations, procedures, equipment, and terminology.

Proper methods of storing equipment, materials, and supplies.

Excellent inventory methods and practices.

Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required

Adaptability to changing operational and organizational needs.

Strong team player with ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.

Problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Experience working in a union environment.

Experience using SAP.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Regular and prompt attendance during scheduled hours.

Formal Education

High school diploma or GED certificate and at least three years of warehouse or related experience.

Working Conditions

Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking.

Requires effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing.

Requires manual handling of items (simple grasping and fine manipulations).

May involve bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.

May lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights up to 75 pounds.

Exposure to moving machinery, temperature and humidity changes, dust, fumes, and gases.
