Equipment Operator A (Permanent) - Pymatuning State Park and M.K. Goddard Complex
Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR) is seeking a motivated Equipment Operator A to assist with essential projects throughout Pymatuning State Park and the M.K. Goddard Complex. The candidate will operate and maintain equipment and vehicles used to maintain grounds, roadways, and facilities across the assigned park areas.
Responsibilities
Operate vehicles and equipment with a gross weight under 26,000 pounds for general construction, maintenance, or grounds work, including snow removal and anti‑icing operations.
Maintain park roads, parking areas, landscaping, utility lines, and small construction projects that require manual labor and larger trucks and equipment.
Load and haul earth, stone, sand, stumps, and debris; clear land and prepare surfaces for landscaping; plow, aerate, seed, fertilize, and mulch turf areas, trails, and wildlife plots.
Replace sand on beaches; clean launch and dock areas; repair grades and ramps; mow turf areas, trails, roadsides, utility rights‑of‑way, and wildlife openings with larger mowing equipment, hand mowers, leaf blowers, and weed eaters.
Work Schedule and Additional Information
Full‑time employment; work schedule will vary and may include 5 days/37.5 hours per week with a 30‑minute lunch.
Weekends and holidays may be required.
Telework: Not available.
Salary: Some positions may have a non‑negotiable starting salary.

Qualifications
Six months experience in operation and maintenance of large vans, buses, and single‑chassis trucks with a vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Valid Class C Pennsylvania driver’s license.
Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements required for specific equipment.
PA residency requirement met.
Capable of performing essential job functions.
Submission of criminal history reports may be required for a conditional offer of employment.
