Assist and train in investigations, gathering evidence and taking statements. Assist and train in patrolling, enforcement of traffic and criminal laws. Learn procedures for preparing detailed reports necessary for investigations, crime prevention and prosecution. Assist in arrest procedures, booking, transporting prisoners and patients under custody. Serve subpoenas and warrants of arrest. Answer public inquiries regarding laws, ordinances and regulations. Appear in court as a witness and assist in education and safety presentations. Qualifications

21 years of age by date of employment. High school diploma, GED or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Clean criminal record (no felony convictions). Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Must pass the Oregon Physical Abilities Test (ORPAT) and Frontline written/video exam. Must pass a background investigation, drug test, medical exam and psychological evaluation. Willingness to be fingerprinted and file fingerprints with the State. Must be legally able to possess a firearm. Benefits

Annual salary: $77,061.83. Hourly salary: $37.048958 per hour. Paid vacation: 11.7 hours per month (front‑loaded option for new hires). Paid sick leave: 8 hours per month. 10 paid holidays and 2 personal days per year. Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) contribution 6%. Deferred compensation 4%.
