The tolled express lanes run adjacent to the general-purpose lanes on I-77 between uptown Charlotte and Mooresville. I-77 Mobility Partners is responsible for operations and maintenance of all lanes, both express and general purpose, and right of way within the designated project corridor limits. As the Maintenance Technician, you will operate automotive and maintenance equipment to transport material, equipment and maintenance personnel as well as performing skilled highway maintenance duties. You will also participate in the maintenance of buildings. You may supervise personnel on various job assignments and train less experienced staff. Functions key to success

Operates assigned automotive and construction equipment (tractors, mowers, sweepers, bucket trucks, and Truck Mounted Attenuators (TMA’s)) and uses gas or hand tools to complete daily assignments. Inspects equipment for proper operating condition, makes minor repairs or adjustments, lubricates and assists in making repairs as required. Performs miscellaneous skilled maintenance on the I-77 Express Lanes Project. Performs miscellaneous duties, such as general traffic control, pavement repair, landscaping, painting, relamping, barrier repairs; available on-call after hours for emergency maintenance service, as needed. Responds to traffic incidents, provides roadside assistance to motorists on I-77 between uptown Charlotte and Mooresville; available on-call after hours for emergency incident response, as needed. Performs miscellaneous building maintenance as required. Any other job duties as assigned. What you bring to the table / Qualifications

Class “A” or “B” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain CDL within 180 days. 1 to 3 years of roadway maintenance experience or college equivalent and 1+ years in facilities, roadway, and bridge or grounds maintenance. OSHA 10, CPR and First Aid training (or equivalent). Valid Driver’s License. Experience operating heavy equipment and maintenance knowledge; ability to perform basic automotive service on the roadside. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs; work in high places; work in various weather conditions; weekends/night shifts as required. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar. Working environment

Work schedule includes nights, weekends, and potential travel on roadway; operate around heavy machinery and traffic; noise levels moderate to high. Seniority level
