Job Type: Full‑time.

Description This technician position will be primarily expected to provide responsive and high‑quality service on UPS systems. In addition, he/she will be expected to perform service on related equipment, software, and systems and other advanced electrical services (AES) as requested by customers and the company. The position requires ongoing training, excellent communication, and commitment to Campbell Companies values (People, Service, Integrity, & Stewardship) in all aspects of the job. This includes an overarching commitment to safety and company safety priorities and policy.

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform responsive and high‑quality service, maintenance, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, and customer support of various brands of UPS, power quality, and AES equipment with the ultimate objective of delighting customers.

Perform both remote work and customer‑site work with in‑ and out‑of‑state travel required (up to 50%).

Perform responsibilities at customer job site with minimum supervision.

Effectively and timely use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools as provided by the Company.

Complete all documentation/reporting in an accurate and timely manner—including job safety analysis, work orders, field service reports, truck usage reports, credit card purchase (P‑Card) expense reports, etc.

Learn and apply new knowledge and technical abilities through attendance of technical classes.

Train other employees and technicians on various brands of UPS & AES equipment.

Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with customers, suppliers, fellow employees, and management.

Collaborate effectively with others and assume responsibility to solve problems and delight customers.

Work varying shifts and overtime as business needs arise.

Accept occasional 24/7 on‑call rotation assignments (shared by team).

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Prior training, certifications, or experience with UPS systems are advantageous and may be considered when determining title and compensation.

Certificate of technical training in job specific functions (i.e., UPS, Batteries & Battery testing, PDU (power distribution units), Breaker testing, Power Analyzing, etc.)

Ability to be trained and certified to operate equipment and lift trucks.

Proficient computer technology skills, including ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize company authorized software and equipment manufacturer’s proprietary software.

Demonstrated ability to achieve customer satisfaction and profitability through quality maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and willingness to prepare so work is done correctly the first time.

Demonstrated ability to manage time and work efficiently to meet flat rate and/or estimated hours allocated for each job or service call.

Demonstrated focus on customer satisfaction; ability and willingness to prioritize and deliver prompt response, efficient service calls, and effective communication.

Ability and willingness to regularly seek and apply new technical knowledge through attendance of technical training classes and maintaining appropriate certifications.

Maintain a good driving record and safe driving habits while operating company vehicles.

Effectively participates as part of team, leading and assisting where appropriate and requesting assistance when needed.

Ability to initiate work and work diligently and independently with minimal supervision.

Education And Experience

Minimum of high school diploma and some trade school (e.g., electrician apprenticeship) or equivalent work experience. Certified journeyman electrician or master electrician a plus. Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering (accredited by EAC/ABET) a plus.

Knowledge of or prior work experience on uninterruptible power supply systems a plus.

Knowledge of or prior experience performing Battery & Capacitor replacements on uninterruptible power supply systems a plus.

Knowledge of or previous use of Power Analyzing Equipment (Fluke or Dranetz) a plus.

Track record of strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to read and understand materials commonly used in product service and maintenance functions (service, O&M and parts manuals, technical bulletins, electrical schematics and drawings/diagrams and other related documentation).

Minimum of (2‑3) years of maintenance and repair experience with electric power products and/or advanced electrical systems equipment.

Work Environment

Shop and outside environment with exposure to adverse weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, dirt, and noise.

Valid Utah State Driver’s License and acceptable driving record is required.

Exposure to electrical hazards, must maintain constant situational awareness, always be safety‑conscious, and adhere to company safety (including energy isolation, lockout/tagout) procedures.

Travel Requirements

Domestic travel up to 50% of the time.
