Maintenance Control Clerk (8078) .

Overview The Maintenance Control Clerk prepares, establishes, and maintains files, records, and reports required for the MTA Maintenance operation. The position requires operating office equipment—including personal computers, calculators, duplicating equipment, facsimile transmitters, and telephones—and assisting in the development and compilation of statistical maintenance operating data. The Clerk reviews and verifies information on data processing reports and other documents pertinent to the maintenance department, responding to inquiries made by MTA authorities in a timely manner and maintaining effective work relationships with other MTA departments and offices. Variable hours and locations may be required.

Responsibilities

Prepare, establish, and maintain files, records, and reports for the Maintenance operation.

Operate standard office equipment, including personal computers (word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications), calculators, duplicating equipment, facsimile, and telephones.

Assist in developing and compiling statistical maintenance operating data and perform mathematical calculations.

Review and verify information contained on data processing reports and other maintenance department documents.

Respond to inquiries from MTA authorities promptly and effectively.

Maintain effective work relationships with other MTA departments and offices.

Perform other duties as required and work variable hours at various locations.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED recognized by the State of Maryland.

Two (2) years of clerical experience including data entry, filing, and record keeping.

Knowledge of basic mathematical and payroll functions; skilled in adding machines and computers.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or comparable email programs.

Must pass a written and data entry examination to determine adequacy of qualifications.

Additional Requirements

Provide a current copy of a Complete Driving Record (not more than 30 days old) with application.

Must possess a valid motor vehicle license in the State of Maryland and be able to operate a motor vehicle for several hours each day.

Adhere to all safety rules, policies, regulations, and personal protective equipment requirements, attend safety meetings, and report hazards promptly.

Maintain safe and healthy work environment; non‑compliance may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
