Position Summary As a Control Room Operator (CRO), you are part of the primary response team for Infra Electrical. You'll work alongside a second CRO, monitor and control the electrical distribution system in the CCR (Central Control Room) via eFMCS (Electrical Facilities Monitoring & Control System), and coordinate the shift team, which includes shift electricians, to physically investigate any issues, including alarms and warnings. They are the primary communicators for any incidents.

Role and Responsibilities

Monitoring electrical rooms via cameras and a variety of electrical distribution equipment such as Variable Frequency Drives, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Diesel Generators, Breakers, High, Medium, and Low Voltage Buses, Relays, and other electrical equipment.

Operating remote breakers and/or coordinating switching operations as necessary to provide reliable power to site stakeholders.

Coordinating with other departments to troubleshoot issues, turn on/off loads, and communicate as necessary.

Participating in safety activities to improve onsite safety and quality.

Participating in briefs, which should include, but not be limited to, actions performed during shift, any abnormal conditions, and outstanding action items.

Providing technical assistance to junior team members as needed; coaching less experienced members of the team to improve overall level of knowledge and job satisfaction.

Skills and Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required; some college or trade school preferred. Apprentice work/study program is a positive.

4+ years of experience required with SCADA, high to medium voltage operations.

Texas Electrician License, Journeyman or other related experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E as it applies to industrial installations.

Strong understanding of electrical distribution system and single line diagrams.

Knowledge of standard practices of the Electrical trade.

OSHA 30 training.

Shift

– D Shift – Wednesday through Friday (6:45 pm – 7:15 am) with alternating Saturdays.
