Position Summary
In your role as a Control Room Operator (CRO) you are part of the primary response team for Infra Electrical. You will work alongside a second CRO to monitor and control the electrical distribution system in the Central Control Room (CCR) via the Electrical Facilities Monitoring & Control System (eFMCS). You will also coordinate the shift team, including shift electricians, to physically investigate issues, including alarms and warnings. You will be the primary communicator for any incidents.
Role and Responsibilities Here's what you will be responsible for:
Monitor electrical rooms via cameras and equipment such as Variable Frequency Drives, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Diesel Generators, Breakers, and High/Medium/Low Voltage Buses, Relays, and other electrical equipment.
Operate remote breakers and coordinate switching operations as necessary to provide reliable power to site stakeholders.
Coordinate with other departments to troubleshoot issues, turn on/off loads, and communicate as necessary.
Participate in safety activities to improve onsite safety and quality.
Participate in shift briefs, including actions performed, any abnormal conditions, and outstanding action items.
Provide technical assistance to junior team members as needed and coach less experienced members to improve overall knowledge and job satisfaction.
Skills and Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; some college or trade school preferred; apprentice work/study program is a positive.
4+ years of experience with SCADA and high to medium voltage operations.
Texas Electrician License, Journeyman, or related experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E as it applies to industrial installations.
Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and single-line diagrams.
Knowledge of standard practices of the Electrical trade.
OSHA 30 training is a plus.
The current base salary range for this role is between $26.80 - $52.20. Total compensation may include a competitive benefits package and participation in company incentive programs based on factors including duties, location, education, skills, qualifications and experience.
Shift and Benefits Shift:
D Shift – Wednesday through Friday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays.
