April-October seasonal position

on the North Shore of Chicago offers

onsite housing at a nominal cost . Candidates will gain valuable work experience, learn all aspects of golf operations, and be mentored by successful PGA Professionals, while working alongside an engaged membership and a collaborative professional staff at a high-level private club.

Overview: Founded in 1918, Northmoor features 27 holes of golf, including the original 18-hole Donald Ross design, a renovation by Hall of Fame designer Dr. Michael Hurdzan, and a recent nine-hole renovation by Tyler Rae. Golf amenities include an award-winning golf shop, full-service practice range, practice putting green, short game area, and an indoor golf performance center with three state-of-the-art simulator bays, club fitting, and extensive instructional offerings.

The club also offers a Junior Olympic-sized pool with lap and recreational swimming, a family-friendly shallow pool, an outdoor hot tub, and ample lounge seating. Dining options range from casual to fine dining, with both indoor and outdoor venues, and Northmoor hosts events of all sizes, from private dinners to golf tournaments and weddings. Additional amenities include nine Har-Tru tennis courts, four pickleball courts, four platform tennis courts, and full-service locker rooms.

Northmoor\'s golf program operates on a 12-month season, with peak activity from May through October, and features a robust calendar of Men\'s, Women\'s, Mixed, and Junior golf events, accommodating both competitive and social players.

Experience Required

College Degree (Preferred)

Knowledge of Golf Operations

Must have fundamental knowledge and familiarity for the game of golf and rules of golf

Candidates must be motivated to continue to learn and develop

Maintain or currently working toward PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classification

Knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations

Fundamental supervisory practices and principles

Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees

Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills

Self-motivated with desire to promote and market

Service and customer focused attitude

Experienced in written and oral business communications

Experienced computer user including; Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, golf genius and database

Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community

Essential Responsibilities

1-2 years\' experience as an Assistant Golf Professional preferred

Experience with player development and coaching

Registered as a PGA Associate or actively pursuing PGA membership

Detail-oriented and able to prioritize multiple tasks with limited supervision

Creative mindset with the ability to develop unique programs and ideas

Self-starter capable of accomplishing tasks independently

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Comfortable with technology, including Golf Genius, Outlook, Word, Excel, and other software applications

Ability to integrate quickly into an established team of golf professionals

Familiarity with a caddie program is desired but not required

Knowledge of, or interest in, club fitting and instructional programming

Solid playing background preferred but not required

Exemplary personal and professional integrity

Diplomatic, professional, and effective communication skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in all interactions

Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and succeed in a fast-paced environment

Problem-solving skills with ownership of issue resolution

In addition to traditional golf operations duties, this position contributes to Northmoor\'s brand as a premier private club, and may include some nontraditional tasks as required. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Embrace the club\'s mission, vision, values, and service standards in all interactions

Serve as a creative, future-focused, and caring leader, while managing resources effectively

Cordially and professionally greet all members and guests

Provide information about daily golf play and club programs to the membership

Promote the game of golf and protect Northmoor\'s reputation in the community

Collaborate with golf and other club staff to deliver the finest golf and social experiences

Assist the Head Golf Professional with daily operations to ensure excellence in member service

Maintain a professional presence in the golf shop, practice areas, and on the course

Support the Northmoor Junior Golf Program, including instruction, clinics, and events

Assist with tournament operations, including administration, setup, and execution

Support the Outside Services Lead/Caddiemaster in delivering a first-class member experience

Assist with golf shop merchandising, vendor relations, product selection, receiving, pricing, and inventory management

Develop and communicate high-quality member communications related to golf programs and events

Provide private and group instruction for members of all ages and skill levels

Maintain close working relationships with the Director of Agronomy, course maintenance staff, and other department heads

Play golf with members regularly to enhance engagement and relationships

Perform other tasks assigned by the Lead Golf Professional as appropriate

Incorporate safe work practices in all job performance

Attend all golf staff meetings and participate in ongoing training

Act as an ambassador for Northmoor both inside and outside the club
