This role reports to the Client Services Supervisor, Client Services Manager, or equivalent leadership.
Job Overview As a Courier, Freight, and Driver Dock Support Specialist at SPS Global, you will be integral to our logistics and distribution operations, focusing on delivering top-notch courier and freight services. This position involves detailed coordination and execution of parcel and mail delivery across various locations, ensuring operational efficiency and excellent service delivery. The role supports SPS Global’s commitment to leveraging innovative solutions in our global outsourcing services.
Key Responsibilities
Courier and Delivery Excellence:
Navigate predefined routes via automobile to deliver mail and parcels, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
Freight Handling:
Manage the loading, unloading, and proper distribution of freight, adhering to safety and efficiency protocols.
Operational Support:
Serve as a critical point of support for dock operations, including assisting with the organization and management of shipping and receiving areas.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Responsible for the routine maintenance and operational readiness of delivery vehicles, including inspections and compliance with all safety regulations.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate logs and time stamps for items received and delivered, supporting chain of custody requirements and ensuring compliance with company standards.
Client and Employee Engagement:
Provide exceptional customer service to both clients and SPS employees, enhancing the professional image of the company.
Additional Support:
Proactively seek out additional tasks during downtime and provide support across various operational areas as needed.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
High-level customer service orientation with a focus on professionalism and efficiency.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
Proficiency in using technology to track deliveries and maintain records.
Solid organizational and time-management skills.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years prior work experience in courier, freight handling, or similar roles preferred.
Current state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Must be able to work assigned hours as determined by the manager.
Physical Demands
The role requires physical activity including lifting, bending, and maneuvering freight up to 60 lbs.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit for extended periods.
Travel Local travel is a fundamental part of this role.
