Job Objective
The Community Wide Scheduler plays a vital role in assuring diagnostic care is made available to each patient through referrals and continuation of care, appointments and services providing patients and physician offices accurate information regarding patient preparation for testing.
Key Responsibilities
Ability to develop/maintain a collaborative working relationship w/all system depts., medical staff & other health care professionals at Thompson Health.
Exhibits time management, keyboarding & multi-tasking skills to assure business components of the department are maintained at an efficient & effective level.
Has a working knowledge of diagnostic testing and understands the complex scheduling issues involved with timely and appropriate testing of patients.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Associates Degree preferred.
Computer skills including but not limited to the various Meditech modules involved in scheduling, ordering, resulting & charging examinations.
Expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel helpful.
Knowledge of diagnostic testing, medical terminology and spelling highly desired.
ICD-10/CPT coding experience strongly preferred.
2 – 3 years of previous secretary/clerical medical office and/or healthcare services scheduling experience desired.
