Overview

Job title Facilities Operations Technician 2, Department FAES | Center for Lake Erie Area Research. This is a seasonal full-time position located at Put-in-Bay, OH, with a schedule of 40 hours per week, from early spring to late fall. Responsibilities

Assist with and coordinate maintenance of facilities, grounds, vehicles and related equipment under the direction of Stone Laboratory's management. Perform maintenance and operational tasks related to facilities, including minor carpentry, painting, drywall, plumbing and electrical work. Operate and maintain equipment (mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, tractors, motor vehicle fleet, etc.) and manage tools and inventory. Conduct routine maintenance checks on vehicles (oil changes, tires, cleaning, annual safety inspections). Obtain cost estimates and work with third-party vendors on vehicle repairs, grounds improvements and other equipment maintenance. Coordinate with the Stone Laboratory business office to facilitate programmatic use of vehicles and comply with OSU policies. Assist with pick-up and delivery of food orders and freight; assist with weekly trash removal; assist with seasonal deployment of laboratory equipment and infrastructure. Provide updates and reports to Stone Lab management and Director; identify and communicate operational issues. Coordinate and guide other part-time staff and volunteers on assigned duties; perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Years of relevant experience: 1 year is required; 2-4 years preferred. Additional Information

Employment type: Seasonal full-time; location Stone Laboratory (0118); Schedule Hours: 40; Shift: First Shift. Classification: Facilities Operations Technician 2 (T2 level); 180 day probationary period; this is a Classified Civil Service position. Background check: Final candidates must complete a background check; drug screen or physical may be required during the post-offer process. Compensation: The offer will fall within the stated range based on internal equity, unit budget, and qualifications.
