Offer Description The candidate will contribute to the abovEF project, funded by FIS2 AdG, which aims to build and operate a completely new laboratory for electronic spectroscopy. The main innovation is an angle-resolved inverse photoemission (ARIPES) apparatus that operates in the UV photon energy range with unprecedented resolution exceeding 40 meV. The project has a strongly experimental approach, from instrumentation design, through construction and commissioning, to its use in the study of quantum materials. The instrumentation design activity will be complemented by ARPES, RIXS, and XMCD experiments on quasi-2D materials with special magnetic and electronic properties, such as altermagnetism and topological states. Once the abovEF apparatus is completed, the main activity will consist of measuring ARIPES spectra on quasi-2D materials.
