$24.00/hr - $32.00/hr Direct message the job poster from Spherion Asheville The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance and emergency repair work on the facility's equipment, machinery, and building systems to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable operation. This role focuses on minimizing costly downtime and ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards. The ability to troubleshoot and problem solve is essential. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Duties

Preventive Maintenance (PM): Conduct scheduled inspections, lubrication, filter changes, and other routine tasks on equipment (e.g., forklifts, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems) to extend asset lifespan and prevent unexpected failures. Quickly diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic malfunctions in equipment and execute necessary repairs, including replacing defective parts and calibrating systems. Perform general maintenance tasks like minor carpentry, painting, patching, and maintaining the building's interior and exterior structures. Adhere to all OSHA and company safety protocols, maintain clear records of all maintenance work, and ensure equipment meets all required safety and regulatory standards. Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies needed for repairs and maintenance activities. Preferred Skills

Proficiency in handling refrigerants and servicing complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment. Ability to perform light-to-moderate welding (MIG, TIG, or Stick) for structural repairs or equipment modification. Knowledge of fluid power systems, including complex pump and valve repair and system design troubleshooting. PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose issues within automated control systems and read ladder logic - ability to program PLCs a plus. Familiarity with tools like thermal imaging, vibration analysis, or oil analysis to preemptively catch failures. Strong attention to detail, good time management, and effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration and accurate documentation. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; a technical diploma, vocational training, or an Associate's degree in a related field is preferred. Multiple years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Proficiency in safely and effectively using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment. Non-negotiable ability to understand and execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to isolate energy sources before maintenance work. Seniority level
