Company Overview Retina Care Specialists of Florida provides state‑of‑the‑art vitreoretinal care. All physicians are trained at the most renowned retina and ophthalmology programs worldwide, and the practice offers a range of diagnostic procedures focusing on eye disorders.
Position Summary The Front Desk Associate delivers exceptional patient service both in person and over the phone. Duties include interviewing patients or their representatives, collecting accurate demographic, financial, and insurance information for billing, managing multiple phone lines, scheduling appointments, processing medical record requests, and accepting patient payments.
Responsibilities
Display high professionalism and provide superb customer service.
Obtain and review patient demographic and insurance information for accuracy.
Verify insurance and collect copays, co‑insurance, and outstanding balances.
Ensure all patient intake forms are signed and complete.
Answer patient communications, including phone lines, the Solution Reach Conversations Messaging Portal, and email/fax.
Schedule appointments.
Process medical record requests per policies and procedures.
Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure optimal patient experience.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent certificate.
Minimum two years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.
Minimum two years of health‑care insurance experience.
Strong computer skills and a typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
Strong desire to assist others and provide excellent customer service.
Highly dependable and organized.
Outstanding interpersonal skills.
Professional appearance and polished image.
Ability to learn quickly, retain training, problem‑solve, and think independently.
Preferred Skills
Understanding of medical terminology.
