The Salon Retail Coordinator is responsible for the operation and functional management of the front desk. This position reports to the Salon Manager and is nonexempt.
Great customer service is an art and we are seeking artists. The goal at our salon is to make each of our guests feel as though they are the most important person we will see all day. If you have the ability to smile, to make great small talk and have an awareness to people's needs while multi‑tasking, then you may be the perfect fit.
Position Description The Salon Retail Coordinator plays a key role in providing exceptional front desk service and driving revenue through sales and efficient operations.
Client Sales And Service Responsibilities
Suggest retail products, upsell larger quantities, promotions, and additional services.
Cross‑sell services to other areas of the salon.
Respond professionally to customer service issues and promptly address complaints.
Exhibit good communication skills in difficult or corrective service situations.
Overcome booking mistakes or corrective work.
Handle refunds and re‑do’s professionally and friendly.
Continuously educate yourself on products, services, and industry updates.
Promote business outside of the salon.
Adjust schedule to meet client needs.
Telephone / Reception Responsibilities
Acknowledge the client within sixty seconds of entering the salon.
Answer the phone within three rings with a smile, stating name and salon location.
Listen for a reply before placing the client on hold.
Efficiently handle scheduling, canceling, and re‑scheduling of client appointments.
Handle POS transactions timely and efficiently.
Emphasize pre‑bookings during client check‑out.
Salon and Personal Presentation Responsibilities
Ensure the reception area and salon meet and exceed State Board regulations.
Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
Effectively organize time and resources to meet sales goals.
Communicate with Salon Management regarding issues and needs.
Meet salon guidelines for attendance and tardiness.
Maintain an updated professional appearance and meet salon dress code.
Education and Experience
GED or High School diploma.
Proficient in computer–based business‑related software.
Ability to handle money, count and make change.
Customer Service or Cosmetic industry experience preferred.
Physical
Ability to use computer keyboard, standard telephone and other related equipment.
Ability to work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
Ability to stand for up to 8‑hour shifts.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
